In Valparaiso, a new traffic signal is being installed at the intersection of State Road 130 and Froberg Road to enhance safety announced Valparaiso’s Engineering Director Mike Jabo. The signal will begin with a flashing light in the first days of installation and then become a signaled crossing about August 1, once motorists have become more accustomed to its location, Jabo said. The new signaled crossing on the west side of the city is part of Valparaiso’s 2022 infrastructure upgrade program, a $5.6 million program that includes a combination of resurfacing, new sidewalks and pathways, roadway-extending projects and safety upgrades, the news release said. The city has introduced an interactive overview map of infrastructure projects available at tinyurl.com/ValpoWorks .
