80/94 FlexRoad Meetings in Indiana and Illinois

The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) says two public meetings are this week for the 80/94 FlexRoad project to improve traffic flow and safety along Indiana’s busiest interstate corridor. The first is Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at the Hammond Sportsplex and Community Center; the other is Thursday August 15, 2024, at the Irwin Community Center in Homewood, Illinois. Both are 5:30 to 7 pm with a presentation at 6. FlexRoad includes 14 miles of the Borman Expressway from Interstate 65 in Gary to Illinois 394 in Cook County. INDOT says strategies include dynamic shoulder lanes and variable speed limits, and improvements are planned at I65 and Broadway. Find more information at IndianaFlexRoad.com .
