In Lowell, an empty trick-or-treat bowl became an opportunity for some costumed kids to perform a Halloween treat of their own. A post shared at the Hammond Firefighters Local 556 Facebook page shows kids on video taking candy from their own bags to restock the empty bowl so other children would have candy. The firefighters didn’t want the good deed to go unheralded and an update to the post said, “Mother has been contacted and arrangements are being made to thank these young heroes!”
