The Salvation Army of Northwest Indiana says it’s ringing in the Red Kettle Season this week and inviting Region residents to participate. The first kickoff event is today Thursday November 10th, 3:30 pm at the Strack & Van Til Food Market in Schererville. Friday November 11th 5:30 pm will be the official lighting of The Salvation Army of Northwest Indiana’s Giant Red Kettle for Lake County in front of Peoples Bank in Schererville. Saturday November 12th 5:30 pm is the official lighting of Giant Red Kettle for Porter County at Founders Square in Portage. The large illuminated red kettles for the two counties are a gift from American Precision Services in Gary.
With a combined 2022 Christmas fundraising goal of $1.9 million for Lake and Porter Counties, The Salvation Army also says it is seeking help from individuals and groups to volunteer as bellringers, and from businesses who want to help their communities by offering a challenge match to increase donations in Red Kettles. Visit www.RegisterToRing.com to ring a bell at a Red Kettle near you. Contact Kevin Feldman at The Salvation Army of Northwest Indiana to inquire about having a challenge match for Red Kettles.
