In Valparaiso, officials say a threat that was determined to be not credible resulted in a temporary lockdown and then the early dismissal of students at Valparaiso High School on Monday. Valparaiso Police reported yesterday they received notice by phone of a potential threat Monday morning that was to be carried out at Valparaiso High School. Authorities say the threat indicated an explosive device had been placed in a specific location within the school, meanwhile the school was placed in a “lockdown” status while police and fire officials worked to ensure safety and investigate the threat. The investigation determined the threat was not credible and building occupants were not in any danger according to police. Because of the level of disruption high school students were released at 10:45 yesterday morning.
