District Offers Medical Sharps Collection with Porter County Health Department

The Porter County Recycling and Waste Reduction District says it has launched a partnership with the Porter County Health Department to offer a residential medical sharps collection. Residents can bring in their medical sharps, needles, syringes, and lancets to collection bins at Porter County Health Department locations in Valparaiso and Portage for proper disposal, Monday-Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm. The news release said insulin needles, lancets, and boost patches must be deposited in a hard plastic container for collection (ie: laundry soap container, milk jug, etc.).
