June is Pollinator Month, and this is National Pollinator Week , June 20th-June 26th. The nonprofit Pollinator Partnership says it’s the sixteenth consecutive year of bringing greater awareness to pollinator conservation since they founded the Pollinator Week initiative in 2007. In Hammond, Gibson Woods Nature Preserve is hosting a Pollinator Hike this Saturday, June 25th. And Thursday June 23rd the park is celebrating National Pollinator Week with an event called, “Birds and Butterflies and Bees, Oh My!”, discovering the importance of birds, bees and their other pollinator friends, they said, and making a take-home bee hotel. Pre-registration is required for the activities; here is a link for details on these events and more.
